Château de Chambert

The nose shows delicate hints of red fruits, black cherry, and cassis, keeping its freshness throughout. This wine has a palate of fruity exuberance balanced with silky tannins, offering a refined experience.

The Château de Chambert is a 100% Malbec grown under the AOC Cahors designation, in the Cahors region of France. The vines are 40 years old on average, grown on a selection of three unique soils: brown clay-limestone, iron rich clay siderolithic and Kimmeridgien limestone.

After harvesting, the grapes are fermented with indigenous yeast at 82.4 - 86 degrees Fahrenheit in small concrete tanks, a practice from ancient Rome. Following a gentle extraction to preserve a quality tannin profile, maceration is carried out over the course of about 15 days. Finally, the wine is aged in 3,000-liter foudres for 15 to 18 months.
