Château de Chambert "Roussanne"

The nose has hints of dark fruits and spices, ending with peppermint, black cherry, plum, and truffle. The finish has an expression of minerality, with a palate of exuberance and density, balanced by silky fine tannins.

Château de Chambert's Roussanne is made from 100% Roussanne grapes, grown as a single-parceled wine from clay-limestone soil. The vines were planted in 2004, when Château de Chambert partnered with a winemaker friend to share their appreciation of organic farming and low-intervention winemaking through the creation of Roussanne.

After harvesting, the grapes are subjected to a direct press followed by settling. They are then allowed to slowly ferment at a low temperature of less than 68 degrees Fahrenheit with indigenous yeast. Finally, the wine is aged in 1,200-liter foudres for 7 months with regular stirring of its fine lees.
